Ever since the Reverend W. Awdry first began telling his young son stories about a village of talking trains, kids the world over have been in love with Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends. The Reverend took those tales and converted them to Thomas the Tank Engine books that began the Thomas legacy. For 26 years, Reverend Awdry would publish one Thomas and Friends story. All told, he published 26 stories. In fact, today you can purchase an entire volume of all 26 stories. Over 400 pages in a hardback cover. My son has loved reading about Thomas the Train at bedtime, and it is one of his favorites as he learns to read on his own.
Other than books, though, a favorite way of children to be entertained by their favorite blue train is through Thomas the Tank Engine movies. Many of these movies are television episodes that were first seen on tv. However, there are some original movies available. No matter what you are looking for you can probably find it.
Books and movies are nice ways to keep kids entertained. For Thomas the Train fans, there is no shortage of either. What are some of your favorites?
